The WORLD&JAZZ is a brand new band has a real improvisational music from the 21st Century with a unique conception. Looking for never-heard tunes, new musical innovations plus improvisation as instant composition is among our main intention. For the matchless tunes we dig deep down until the Hungarian and other European traditional music. And we compound these heritages in our musical chemistry lab into those special tunes and rhythms you can hear on our records.
To have this characteristic sound we are into developing sophisticated instruments which have never been applied in the Hungarian jazz music scene before, for example the guitar-synthy. But we also bring out acoustical and traditional instruments.
The band name suggests our philosophy: to combine the improvisational JAZZ style with traditional music motives from different places of the WORLD, like The Balkan, Eastern-Europe, Latin-America, Africa and the Oriental Countries.
Our harmonious sound and tunes are mainly based on the originally American music style; however this jazzy style has been recruited with the above mentioned Hungarian and European musical tradition.
On our performances over the acoustic guitar more than ten different tones sound perfectly lifelike with the help of guitar-synthy (accordion, vibraphone, marimba, string, pizzicato strings, scat voice, drum voice, flute and so on).
The tracks’ features are that they have been composed in the so called “episodic form” by the common “song form”. This musical structure gives a wide range of possibilities to build up more complex, heavier creations within the interval of understandable music of course, by the much easier and simpler works. With these accomplishments we would like to be an original color and show up new values on the already colorful Hungarian jazz scene.
Tibor Füzy, the founder and the composer of the band is an enrolled composer at the Hungarian Copyright Association (ARTISJUS), a member of the Hungarian Jazz Association, play on acoustic guitar and guitar-synthy. The other members of the band are well known fellows of the Hungarian jazz life: Kornél Fekete Kovács on trumpet, Péter Sárik on piano and Kornél Horváth percussions with his unique style.
